Sarah Peluse, a 2014 graduate from our undergraduate program, has been awarded the 2022 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize. In 2014, she was among our Paul R. Cohen Memorial Prize winners that year, and she also won the AWM's Alice T. Schafer Mathematics Prize that same year. She went to graduate school at Stanford, and finished in 2019.
The Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize is presented to select women mathematicians who have completed their PhDs in the last two years.
Peluse was awarded "for contributions to arithmetic combinatorics and analytic number theory, particularly with regards to polynomial patterns in dense sets."
Peluse is currently at the Institute for Advance Study (IAS) and Princeton University. More on the Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize and other Breakthrough Mathematics Prizes.
