Benefits & Pay

Payroll – You are paid on a monthly basis.  You are paid on the last working day of each month.  You should arrange direct deposit through workday.

Benefits – All benefit elections must be made through workday within 30 days of your start date. Detailed information can be found at our benefits website: You may contact Tayra Hilton ( or a University Benefits Counselor via email ( with specific questions.

Vesting of University Contributions to Retirement Accounts – The University makes contributions to your retirement account over and above the amounts deducted from your paycheck as contributions.  The University’s contributions will only vest if your appointment at the University lasts for 3 or more years.  If you leave the University before that, you will keep your own retirement account contributions, but the remainder will revert to the University.

Extended absences – If you will be away for more than three weeks, please obtain prior approval from the chair.
