Title: Goncharov Universality Conjecture
Abstract:
Multiple polylogarithms play a central role in many seemingly unrelated areas of mathematics, including the study of volumes of hyperbolic polytopes, scissors congruence, algebraic K-theory, and special values of zeta functions. I will explain the statement of Goncharov’s universality conjecture and outline the main ideas of its proof, which combines techniques from analysis, representation theory, and homotopy theory. This is joint work with Alexander Kupers and Ismael Sierra.
